Consist of patients that are high to moderate function but not cooperative enough for dental work without

        sedative medication.

       Examples of IV sedation patients include but are not limited to:

  • Behavioral issues (Bipolar disorder, aggressive behavior, dental phobia, etc.)

  • Unable to sit for long periods of time.

  • Health issues (Heart disease, mental retardation, G-Tube, need monitoring but not to the level of   general anesthesia). 

  • Patients are usually categorized in tier 2 or 3, with limited exceptions in tier 1.
